Cadi and Owen question Karl again after a witness places him near Geraint's house on the day of the murder. Karl claims he is innocent but appears to be hiding something. Hitting a dead end, Cadi turns her attention to Mia.

When an anonymous caller alerts the police to a body found on a rundown estate, Cadi and Owen are called to investigate. The victim is Geraint Ellis, a former teacher at odds with local teenagers.

Without any another leads, Cadi concentrates on finding Karl Lewis, a young man who made an abuse complaint against Geraint years ago. Meanwhile, Connor, who placed the anonymous call, worries what his friends Mia and Lee will do to him now that they've found out he contacted the police.

After arresting Polish migrant worker Piotr Korecki, Cadi and Owen interrogate him about the CCTV footage showing his altercation with Ifan. The following morning, Sin's ex-girlfriend Hannah visits him and frets over the state of the brothers and their home. Cadi and her sisters gather to say goodbye to their family home on the island, and later, Rachel devastates Cadi by breaking up with her.

When Father McEwan's body is discovered, Rachel, in her capacity as pathologist, tells Cadi she thinks the murders are linked-but she doesn't want to engage with Cadi beyond the professional. The detectives question Dafydd, who reveals his suspicions about Ifan's long-ago involvement in the arson attack that killed Branwen Thomas. Cadi sends a team to the Thomas house, but the brothers have fled.

Cadi tries to move forward by focusing on the one thing she knows she's good at: work. The detectives go back to Ifan's farm, while an increasingly agitated Sin is fired from his job at the building site. Returning home, he takes out his anger and frustration on his brother. Father McEwan's silence about past crimes comes back to haunt him.

Cadi argues with her sister about their ailing father. Later, Lowri recounts the details of her attack to the police, leading them to question her abusive ex-boyfriend, Marc.

With Megan and Nia safe, the police search Dylan's house, but he has disappeared. Cadi interviews Iona, hoping to get information about the abducted girls and capture Dylan at last.

Dylan brings home a wounded Megan, the university student he hit with his truck, and won't let her leave. Iona warns him against keeping Megan at the house while the police are investigating and urges him to get rid of her.

Dylan releases Megan from her shackles but threatens to chain her again if she tries to run away. Cadi questions a man in prison who was convicted for the murder of another young girl, a crime that Cadi believes may be linked to Mali's death.
